As many of you know, I recently became a mother for the second time. I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 6 week old. Life is full! I say the word full because a while back I read something that resonated with me. When someone asks you how you are and you say, “I am just so busy,” it gives off a negative connotation in most cases. People tend to equate being “busy” with rushing, feeling stressed, not having any time for themselves and dreading doing it all over again the next day. Having a “full” life gives off a different connotation. You may have a TON on your plate, but you are enjoying your time and know that it does not all have to be done right now.
The site bemoreswithless.com breaks it down perfectly… “A busy life distracts us from what we really care about, and who we really care about. A busy life is all about piling it on, catching up, falling behind, and waking up tired to do it all over again.” AND “A busy life leads to jaw clenching and brow furrowing. A full life encourages you to smile and breathe. The success of a busy life is measured by check marks on a to-do list while the success of a full life is measured by what’s on your heart.”
There is no doubt that life can be tough and we can get caught up in the daily grind. No one is perfect, but I am promising myself and my family that I am going to choose a FULL life. They say that parenting takes a village and this has never been more clear to me then with my second son being born, but I think that not only parenting, but LIFE takes a village. We need to support one another in this thing called life and make sure we all start leading full instead and busy lives.
